Moore won the individual NCAA championship in 2006 and shortly thereafter he qualified for the 2006 US Open at Winged Foot Golf Club in N.Y., pretty heady stuff for a college freshman. To earn his NCAA title, Moore posted a 12 under par 276 for 72 holes to win by a comfortable four stroke margin. He earned a berth playing for the USA in the 2006 World Amateur Team Championship in South Africa and he was a member of the winning 2007 USA team at the Copa de las Americas Championship, played in Canada.
He was also a member of the winning 2007 USA Palmer Cup squad. Individually, Moore also captured the 2006 Players Amateur in Bluffton, S.C. He had four rounds in the 60s, with a best of 62, leading to his winning total of 22 under par. He was a first team All-American for Oklahoma State in 2006 and he is heading into his junior year this fall. Moore is playing on his first Walker Cup team.
