Caldwell plundered four points from a possible six during July's European Team Championship at Western Gailes to help Ireland win the title for the first time since 1987. He has represented his country at various levels since first emerging on the international scene in the boys' ranks back in 2002. Earlier this season, Caldwell was a semi-finalist in the Irish Close Amateur Championship.
