Willett came with a rousing late charge to seal a Walker Cup berth following a wonderful week in late July-early August which spawned two major titles. He staked his claim with a purposeful ten shot victory in the South of England Championship at Walton Heath before continuing in the rich seam of form by capturing the English Amateur title seven days later with a 3 & 2 win over Coventry's Matthew Cryer. A student at Jacksonville State University,Willett has two wins to his name on the US college circuit.
